Ruby Car Imports buys used vehicles at Japanese auction on behalf of Kenyan buyers, and sees them through to registered plates in Nairobi.
Importing a car from Japan is not complicated, but it is unforgiving. Miss the eight-year window by a month and the car cannot be registered. Budget against the auction price instead of the KRA valuation and you find yourself short at the port. Skip the auction sheet and you buy someone else’s accident repair.
We built this business around removing those three surprises. Every quote separates what you pay us from what you will pay the government. Every bid is preceded by the inspection documents. Every age check is done against the export certificate, not the advert.
The listings on this site are live Japanese auction stock, updated as lots come up. If the car you want is not showing, tell us what it is — most weeks it passes through an auction somewhere.
We bid, we do not sell you stock
We have no yard full of cars we need to move, so we have no reason to steer you toward one. You pick, we bid to your ceiling.
The sheet comes before the money
Auction sheet, inspector notes and photographs reach you before any bid is placed. If something on it bothers you, we walk.
Both halves of the price, up front
CIF to Mombasa and the likely KRA assessment, quoted separately at the start. Nobody should discover the duty at the port.
